Born and raised in Annapolis, Maryland, Shelby Nelson has always taken interest in the medical aspect of science. She currently is enrolled as a student at Anne Arundel Community College pursuing a degree in the biological sciences, with the intention of transferring to the University of Maryland. Between time spent working in the food industry and retail, Shelby acquired the customer service skills necessary for assisting people of all demographics.
Having personally cared for a woman until she was 100 years old, Shelby quickly found the importance of enhancing the quality of one’s life. This is a value she plans to incorporate in her future career. Having grown up with a grandmother who suffers from hearing loss, Shelby developed a compassion for individuals who struggle to communicate due to their impairment.
In her free time, Shelby enjoys reading, journaling, and studying and collecting various minerals and gems. Nothing compares to her favorite pastime of snuggling up to her large and in charge Rottweiler, three mischievous cats, sassy bearded dragon, and spirited squirrel.
