Mariya Hutto is an owner of Chesapeake Hearing Centers and has served patient needs since 2002. Her expertise is in guiding patients through the journey to better hearing, including evaluation, counseling on communication strategies, and the fitting and management of hearing aids. She is licensed to dispense hearing aids by the state of Maryland, and sees patients in our Severna Park office. In 2022, Ms. Hutto was appointed by the governor to serve a four-year term on the Maryland Board of Examiners for Audiologists, Hearing Aid Dispensers, Speech-Language Pathologists, and Music Therapists. Her favorite part of working at Chesapeake Hearing Centers is being a force of good in our communities, making the world a better place by always centering patient care and personal integrity.
Ms. Hutto graduated magna cum laude from St. Mary’s College of Maryland with a bachelor’s degree in psychology in 2000. While there, she studied the workings of the brain, human behavior, and research methods. She also completed several internships to gain hands-on experience with patient care, brain processing, and data analysis. Ms. Hutto earned a master’s degree in Information Science from the University of Maryland in 2006. Ultimately, she decided to put her studies to use in her family’s privately owned, local, and trusted audiology practice where she could carry on her father’s legacy of bringing better hearing to the people in her community. She enjoys reading, writing, yoga, and hiking with her family.
