Sharing the Joy of Hearing

At Chesapeake Hearing Centers, giving back is part of who we are. We’re honored to give back to our community and beyond, helping people in need around the world hear their best.

  • Donations — A portion of the proceeds from every Starkey hearing aid we sell is donated to SHF.
  • Recycling — Our in-office recycling program provides hearing aids for SHF to refurbish and donate during its international missions.
  • Giveaways — Through the generosity of our patients, employees, and management, we donate food to low income families through SPAN, a local nonprofit.
  • Support — We support our military through letter writing campaigns. Stop by any of our offices to write a card to an active duty member of the military and thank them for their service!
  • Hear Now — Starkey Hearing Foundation has provided more hearing help to people in the United States than to any other country. Through the Hear Now program, low-income Americans apply for hearing help. This program would not be possible without providers like those at Chesapeake Hearing Centers who take on new Hear Now patients every month to receive hearing services free-of-charge.

We are proud to support local and national charities with our financial resources, and the personal talents of our team.

We provide community service for the following organizations, such as free hearing screenings and sponsorship of health fairs and events:

We support local community organizations through sponsorships and advertising:

We are also active members of many area Chambers of Commerce.

A Little Giving Goes a Long Way

Fellow Businesses, Let’s Step Up Our Philanthropy

“Ask not what your country can do for you — ask what you can do for your country.”

With this bold statement during his Jan. 20, 1961, inaugural address, newly elected U.S. president John F. Kennedy challenged the American people. Many years have passed since that historic challenge, but today the message is as important as ever.

Chesapeake Hearing Centers was established in 1975 with the promise of helping people hear better. To achieve this goal, our mission statement is “to treat patients the way we would want to be treated.” We kept this in mind in 2020 when COVID-19 challenged us all and did what we could to continue serving our communities in a safe manner.

By the fall of 2021, we saw that our community still had needs that weren’t being met, so in November we started a program of setting aside funds from hearing aid sales to donate to local charities selected by our helpful staff. And what a difference it has made.

As of today, we have donated to Worcester County Humane Society, Hospice of the Chesapeake, SPAN Inc., and Haven Ministries. The donations have provided a welcome boost to some amazing charitable organizations, and we’ve felt honored to give back in a meaningful and impactful way.

While we get great joy from helping these deserving groups, we would love to challenge other businesses to do the same.

As a business, what service or product do you provide, and can you set aside funds each time you do it? Supporting charitable organizations that are making a difference is another effective way to invest in the present and in the future. Remember: Ask not what a charity can do for you; ask what you can do for a charity in your community today!
