History

office roomChesapeake Hearing Centers is the oldest private practice audiology group in the state of Maryland. Originally, services were confined to diagnostic site of lesion studies for physicians with auditory test batteries, including the first ABR testing for acoustic tumors outside a major hospital in Maryland.

Chesapeake Hearing Centers offered Industrial hearing conservation programs beginning in 1981, and about that time initiated a hearing aid dispensary program. We were one of the first centers in this state to offer computer-programmable hearing aids in 1991 and remain a leader, dispensing a variety of programmable and totally digital instruments.

We provide services to individuals with hearing loss throughout their lifespan. We initiated otoacoustic emission testing of infants in the neonatal intensive care unit at Anne Arundel General Hospital. We also provide services through managed care organizations and have assisted the financially stressed elderly through cooperation with the Department of Aging, the Lions Club, and other organizations.

Today we provide services in seven offices located in Anne Arundel County and on the Eastern Shore. We accept self-referred patients, as well as referrals from physicians, educators, rehabilitation professionals, psychologists, HMOs and other professionals and organizations.
